Whimsical Wild Dog

Painting 4 of 14 in the series, “The Circles of Life”

As we set off on our last morning game-drive at Cheetah Plains in South Africa, we were once again excited for what the day would bring. Our ranger and tracker were focused on providing a farewell treat for us. They wanted to give us the added bonus of finding the pack of wild dogs that had been spotted earlier in the morning. We had already been lucky to encounter all of the “Big 5” over the course of 3-days.

After about two hours, we continued to cover terrain with no sign of the pack of wild dogs. Radio calls from ranger to ranger, exemplifying the comradery shared even by competing lodges, any time you’d see another safari group in sight, the ranger would approach our vehicle to offer assistance and an update regarding the pack of dogs.

Collectively, as a safari team, our group decided, to end the search and forego finding the dogs in hopes of seeing other animals on our final game drive. We never got to see them, therefore, this painting is my interpretation of what one would look like: the pastel colored dream-like whimsical. I love the freedom represented by the wild dogs, although some would argue they are lonely and scavenger-like, they are an almost near extinct elusive species living in the bush.

My heart, your wall

Whether you are an seasoned collector or a first time buyer, there is nothing that can provide the same joy as knowing you are the only person that has the original piece of art. The same can be said about commissioned artwork in which you, the buyer dictates the subject and muse for the painting and sometimes even the colors. It’s a pleasure for me to bring to life your interpretation of amazing moments captured by.
